SC DISMISSES PETITION ON ICI CREATION
THE Supreme Court (SC) has dismissed the petition questioning the constitutionality of Executive Order (EO) 94, series of 2025.
The petition was filed by Jacinto Paras. The EO created the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI).
In a resolution written by Associate Justice Samuel Gaerlan, the SC en banc ruled that the Paras petition failed to meet the basic requirements for judicial review.
The ICI was created to look into the controversial flood control projects.
Gaerlan stressed that the petition violated the hierarchy of courts because it was filed directly with the SC.
