MAYOR FACES ILLEGAL APPOINTMENT COMPLAINT
RADIO COMMENTATOR Edward Ligas has filed complaints before the Office of the Ombudsman Visayas, accusing Mandaue City Mayor Thadeo Jovito Ouano and two barangay councilors from Compostela town of alleged
unlawful appointment of elected officials to paid city positions.
Ligas accused the respondents of violating Republic Act 3019 or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, unlawful appointment and administrative offenses of grave misconduct and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service under the Local Government Code.
The two other respondents are barangay councilors Ian Arioja and Renee Lyn Castro.
